Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:), which rose 9.98% or 3.15 points to trade at 34.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Kuangli Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd (TW:) added 7.94% or 1.00 points to end at 13.60 and Space Shuttle Hi-Tech Co Ltd (TW:) was up 5.31% or 0.55 points to 10.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yageo Corp (TW:), which fell 9.58% or 69.00 points to trade at 651.00 at the close. FarGlory Hotel Co Ltd (TW:) declined 9.42% or 2.90 points to end at 27.90 and Walsin Technology Corp (TW:) was down 9.36% or 28.00 points to 271.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 521 to 278 and 118 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.30% or 0.20 to $66.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.22% or 0.16 to hit $71.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.20 to trade at $1215.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 30.717, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2212.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 95.84.
